Digital invoicing could prevent invoice fraud
Companies without a digital invoice processing system in place are leaving themselves open to invoice fraud. Over the past year, nearly a third of businesses have been targeted.
As an advisor to fast growing start ups and accelerating established business Andrew works cross sector with recent clients in the gaming, hospitality, space and professional consulting industries.

With Andrew’s experience in general practice, founders and directors can lean on his advice for more than just commercial and statutory accounting, with knowledge of corporate and personal tax including experience in R&D and Video Game Tax Reliefs.
Andrew works with clients both seeking and having achieved inward investment, and as part of the Corporate Finance team has advised clients both preparing and pitching for investment as well as assisting in due diligence for those looking to acquire.
A key member of Alliotts’ Technology team, Andrew has continued to champion the firm’s expertise in this area.
Andrew has advised both UK and inward bound start-ups in the technology space on how to set up and the opportunities available in the UK, including R&D Tax Credits. These clients can range from app developers and gaming companies to SaaS providers and space technology companies.
Many technology start-ups utilise Andrew’s experience of outsourced CFO services including cash flow forecasting and monthly reporting to monitor their burn and prepare reports to investors and potential investors alike.
Andrew has attended investor and start up technology events such as Slush in Helsinki and takes a proactive approach to keeping abreast of the key challenges and wider trends that affect these businesses.
Andrew has led initiatives in the gaming sector to push the firm’s exposure and advised established and early stage gaming companies in setting up and how to take advantage of key tax reliefs such as Video Game Tax Relief.
Andrew has helped mentor gaming start ups as part of the Game Changer programme sponsored by Games London including providing presentations and guidance on a proactive approach to getting investment and how to best manage the finances of an early stage start up.
For gaming companies that are established, Andrew has advised on sales as well as assisting in the implementation of share schemes to incentivise new talent and senior staff to join the business.
In the Corporate Finance team, Andrew has assisted and provided advice to clients in respect of company valuations, company sales, due diligence and other ad-hoc engagements such as the appraisal of financing options.
Andrew has assisted businesses in all stages including as an outsourced CFO/FD helping prepare a company towards the sales process.
Andrew leads the Guildford Outsourced Finance department, operating with many clients as the Outsourced Finance Director/CFO and coordinating the team to provide a finance team to clients at the fraction of a cost of hiring them internally.
These clients range from UK start-ups and founders looking to get expertise in to manage the finances of the business whilst they concentrate on growing the core business to established businesses looking for a cost-effective solution that also renovates and innovates the internal financial processes and systems.
Many clients utilising Andrew comment on the improvement in financial reporting and ability to see the businesses performance clearer, allowing them to then achieve the commercial goals of the company.
Andrew also guides inbound companies to the UK through the reporting requirements and leans on the global Alliotts network to provide a truly international service.
Andrew took the scenic route to accountancy. Having joined the British Army at 18 he found himself guarding the royal palaces and undergoing state ceremonial duties as a Grenadier Guardsman before later deploying on operations to Afghanistan in 2012. Due to injury, he left the army and moved to consulting before moving to Accountancy.
Having finally hung up his football boots in 2022 (the occasional runout aside), he now sits as a committee member of the largest local amateur football club in Surrey. But as a keen Sportsman, you will still usually find Andrew competing outside of work as an aspiring golfer and tennis player.
If you do by chance find Andrew relaxing, it would either be out in the Surrey Hills with his wife and their dog Hartley, or throwing himself down the French Alps on another snowboarding trip.
