On Friday the 20th February the Alliotts video games team swapped spreadsheets for video games as they headed to the annual Guildford Games Festival. Alliotts were once again sponsors of this amazing event, and it was great to meet so many developers face-to-face.
To help the team stand-out, they donned their brightest yellow t-shirts, and came equipped with both power-up bars (that’s chocolate bars to us non-developers) and a raffle with some great prizes on offer.
The Guildford Games Festival was obviously the place to be. Normally we struggle to pull accountants away from their desks, but we had nine of our team members who were eager to go. Hopefully attendees enjoyed meeting; Andrew, Chris, Owen, Harvey, Saphal, Sarah, Alex, Romesh, and Inza.
This festival is a chance to recognise the best in the industry, with awards like; Hard Mode Hero award, Unsung Hero Award, Rising Star Award, and Players’ Choice Award. Congratulations to everyone who won an award!
Other than the awards, the festival was a great opportunity for meeting new people, networking, and attending informative talks from experts both in the industry and those in support services.
If there is one negative to this event it would be that it’s like Christmas and is only once a year. So we looked forward to seeing everyone again at Guildford Games Festival 2027.
