The DIT announce a trade deal with Australia
UK Secretary of State for International Trade Anne-Marie Trevelyan signed the Trade Deal in a virtual ceremony yesterday (16th December).
This was the first trade deal that the UK has negotiated from scratch. It was agreed in principle between Anne-Marie Trevelyan and the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in London in June 2020 and has been signed now that all negotiations are complete.
The deal is expected to unlock £10.4 billion of additional trade and eliminate tariffs on 100% of UK exports.
