Our corporate tax partner, Clair Dart, and Tanzina Kabir a member of our corporation team, attended the annual event for London Tech Week held at Australia House on 11 June. This event is pivotal for any technology business and associated businesses during the week in London, and is attended each year by over 200 guests, many of which have flown into the UK for tech week from Australia.
The event was hosted by the Australia-UK Chamber of Commerce of which Alliotts LLP is a member. Guest speakers this year were Gately Global and Telstra. There was a genuine buzz in the room as delegates shared stories and experiences and exchanged details in the fabulous environment of the main hall in Australia House whilst enjoying the hospitality of the Australia-UK Chamber of Commerce.
The guests included tech startups, founders, investors and professionals providing services to the tech sector as well as state government officials both from Australia and the UK, Austrade and the Chamber representatives. Technology businesses in attendance covered all areas of technology including green tech, climate tech, fintech, insurtech, regtech, pharmatech, biotech, healthtech, retail tech, marketing tech and education tech sectors.
With an interest in both technology and Australia-UK businesses, Clair and Tanzina made some great connections and were inspired by the presentations on the evening. Clair has been working closely with the Chamber, having attended various events over the past year as Alliotts’ ambassador, and it is intended that there will be a jointly hosted event for the tech sector later in the year by Alliotts and the Australia-UK Chamber of Commerce.
