Strengthening the trade links between Australia and the UK was the theme of the Leadership lunch I attended yesterday at the Langham Hotel in Marylebone. During the event, which was hosted by the Australia-UK Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by National Australia Bank, it was interesting to hear the insights of a range of speakers who shared their wide knowledge of international trade.
Speakers included the Secretary of State for International Trade, the Rt. Hon Dr. Liam Fox MP, who spoke on the latest developments on trade discussions between the UK & Australian Governments and what they mean for the Australia-UK trade and business relationship; and John McClusky, Head of National Australia Bank’s London Branch, who has 25 years experience of financial markets. John was also joined by his colleague Gavin Friend, Senior Markets Strategist at National Australia Bank and a regular commentator on the economy. We also heard from the Chairman of the Australia-UK Chamber of Commerce, Dick Porter and CEO Catherine Woo who warmly welcomed guests and thanked sponsors.
I look forward to continuing to work with Australia businesses and investors expanding into the UK and to further developing Alliotts’ relationship with the Australia-UK Chamber of Commerce.
