COVID-19. Changes to tax free childcare for working families and key workers impacted by COVID

Are you a working parent, key worker or carer concerned about your Tax Free childcare because your earnings have fallen below the minimum income requirements as a result of the pandemic?

The Department of Education has confirmed that working parents will continue to receive this financial support until the end of October 2020.

This will be the case where if you are eligible for Tax-Free Childcare or 30 hours’ worth of free childcare, but your income has fallen below the minimum income requirement as a result of the impact of the pandemic.

Increase in Earnings Threshold

In addition to this, key workers who may have exceeded the income threshold for tax year 2020-21 as a result of working additional hours to help to tackle the spread of COVID-19 will continue to receive support for this tax year only.
