Away from the office, Richard enjoys the great outdoors. He can regularly be found walking his dogs along the South Downs and the South Coast, often with his wife, Sylvia, and occasionally their sons. They all enjoy exploring new places.

Additionally he is a keen swimmer and cyclist and will on occasions participate in a round of golf. He also enjoys boating and watching cricket and football. When the weather is not so good, Richard enjoys music, chess and just relaxing.
